Informatics, Information-, and Communication Technology are of essential importance for the German economy. Some very impressive facts published by newspapers:

•    about half of the German production of industry and 80% of its exports depend on modern IT and electronic systems;
•    ICT is responsible for about 80% of all innovations;
•    about 40 % of the macroeconomic grouth can be traced back to ICT;
•    800,000 people are primarily employed in ICT-jobs;
•    furthermore, 650,000 people are employed in the user line of busines;
•    more than 60 % of people are online;
•    on average every citizen in Germany has more tahn one mobile phone.

Information systems, mobile services as well as embedded systems converge not only in cars, but also in mobile phones and home infotainment. Therefore the TU Braunschweig decided to connect ICT activities to integrate networks of different research groups.

tubs.CITY intends to coordinate and extend successful research activities of informatic- and information technology in Braunschweig and its surroundings. Besides this tubs.CITY combines the main focuses of information- and communicatiion technologies. Keeping research of ICT in Braunschweig at the highest level, international connections with prominent researchers is of high interest.
